Ladies Who Geek held its very first happy hour at Urban Crust in Plano this month! We were excited to be able to offer our first free social event, with appetizers and desserts provided to all members. Our theme was all things Jim Henson, and our attendees were showing their Henson pride with t-shirts and talk about the incredible movies, shows, and puppets that came from Jim’s brilliant mind.
Conversations revolved around pretty much everything! We talked about video games like Bioshock and Final Fantasy, and there was a bunch of conversation about who has the most board games, and when we can get together to play them. The food was both delicious and plentiful and we had a great private room which allowed us to enjoy being around one another, and speak freely about whatever we wanted.
One of the things we love about Urban Crust are the bellinis, which are just as delicious to drink as they are to look at – and there was plenty to go around! The big show finisher was the chocolate cake, which we boxed up and gave out since everyone was so full.
We were super geeked-out & excited to see new faces attend, and we even gained some new members – welcome to the Ladies Who Geek Family! We’re excited to be able to offer monthly happy hours and other events, and we look forward to seeing you next time. Our next big event will be a Galentines-themed Lunch on Sunday, February 11, at RJ Mexican Cuisine of Dallas, and tickets are available here.
