We were fortunate enough to gather last month at Generation X Comics and Games, for our co-ed and kid-friendly holiday party! It was a perfect venue for us to geek out and play games together. We had a lovely spread of dinner, desserts, and drinks, including delicious pocket pies and huge cookies. We also contributed to the Toys for Tots drive at the store.
Where geeks are gathered, there is sure to be gaming! There were several good rounds of Exploding Kittens, a rousing and enthusiastic game of Name that ‘Stache, and a round of Sparkle Kitties, among others! We also got to explore Generation X’s impressive stock while we were there.
There was an awesome range of raffle items for geeks of all kinds, including an incredible Hunger Games wrap and unicorn headband crocheted by Jaimee, a Harry Potter wand, Blenders sunglasses, Purrlock Holmes and Orphan Black, Espionage Cosmetics items, a Harley Quinn dress, some Buffy comics, some Xena comics, a number of geeky tshirts, some handmade geeky Christmas ornaments, some Halo books, a box donated by the YA literary subscription service LitLoveBox, a Wonder Woman umbrella, and much more.
We’ll be meeting again next week for three events: a Star Wars brunch (ladies only) at Via Real in Irving on Sunday, January 14 at 11:30am; a General Meeting (co-ed, with kids welcome!) on Wednesday, January 24, at the South Irving Library; and a *free* Jim Henson happy hour (ladies only) at Urban Crust in Plano on Friday, January 26, at 6pm. Hope to see you at one or more of these events!
