This month, we met for a co-ed happy hour event at Big Beat Dallas at the new Toyota Music Factory. It was fun to bring our non-lady friends with us to this bar-crawl-style party, and we were delighted to welcome some new faces as well!
It was a really lovely evening, not too hot and just a slight breeze. Spring dresses were out to play, as well as people in shorts and tees. Dogs were allowed in the plaza, and we enjoyed meeting one particularly adorable puppy! Some lucky LWG attendees also received some Studio Movie Grill gift coupons that had been sent to us by Lightning Rod Events share with our members.
We started at Bar Manzilla, where all drinks were 50% off from 3-8pm, and LWG took over their bar area until we moved outside. The plaza outside had two giant bars and a stage, and we enjoyed playing cornhole there as we listened to the music. The singer for the evening was Kirk Thurmond & the Millennials, an R&B/soul group.
Throughout the event, we ate huge plates of chicken tinga nachos, catfish, fries, towers of onion rings, and more, from the locations around the plaza, including Bar Manzilla, Highway 61, and Texas C Bar. We also enjoyed various rum- and tequila-based drinks, including a delicious one called the La Brasa at Bar Manzilla.
Our next event will be our Lisa Frank themed brunch in Fort Worth; get out your bright colors, glitter, and sparkle and come enjoy the shine that is Lisa Frank! Ladies Who Geek will be at Bravo Cucina Italiana in Fort Worth diving deep into their brunch menu on May 12th at 12PM. Cosplay, fun attire, unicorns and Lisa Frank memorabilia are encouraged. Hope to see you there!
